One of the benefits of being active in community affairs is that you have friends in places outside of Laredo.
Amanda Arizola had asked for some artwork for a Latina Art Show in Dallas and rather than mail it, I brought it in person.
Oops, I just realized I can’t upload her video from my phone – will attach it later.
What I could attach were shots of my other friends who didn’t know each other but now do. Through quite a bit of chit-chat one friend might be able to provide a lead on new employment and my other friend took 1st place in a lowrider competition. Before the stereotypes begin, he is an SMU grad programmer – one of my computer guru friends. He is also my fraternity “brother” in Alpha Psi Lambda, where we first met.
I truly love my wonderfully talented and community impacting friends! Not only do they serve their communities but they are also dependable friends who fight over whose house I am staying at. Too late, I’ve got reservations for a good night’s sleep so I can start on the road in the morning bright-eyed & bushy-tailed!
That’s what friends are for. 🙂 Good travels and God protect you. –MH
