Chicken invasion or something more nefarious…

The travel during rush hour from Nuevo Laredo in Mexico to Laredo in the United States is getting scary. A suspicious chicken was again spotted today on International Bridge #2.

Reader, Leonardo Manzanedo, carefully and discretely pulled out his cell phone to take a shot of what looked like might be an armed chicken. Armed with eggs and ready to attack, US Customs agents attempted to contain the threat and then… President Abraham Lincoln arrived…

Our beloved mayor was obviously shocked and enthralled when President Lincoln proclaimed, “Let the chickens roam the international bridges” day and provided any chicken crossing the road bridge, a presidential pardon.

Ok, ok, maybe not. I did get a chance to catch Abe Lincoln the morning of the Union Pacific 150th year anniversary of the signing of the Pacific Railway Act. They were the sponsors of The American Historical Theatre’s Performance where Lincoln and Washington chatted it up.

About the chicken sightings, what gives bridge employees?? It seems as if every day someone sends a new chicken-on-the-international-bridge picture. Too fast to catch?
