Of UISD surplus and rain

Lots of wind and dust meant red, itchy eyes all day long – ugh. The temperature drop was incredible and the rain seemed to fall pretty steadily although… El Partner & I were committed to a football game. A football game where only diehards and parents were present:

Panthers vs Eagles aka Rain Storm vs Die Hard Supportive Parents

We had rain ponchos too but the cold was so weird, especially after a day of near 100 degree heat.

Besides getting drenched at a UISD campus, UISD wants to make it up to me by enticing my junk collector and upcycler heart. This Saturday, UISD will have a surplus auction. If you have ever seen the inside of my house, it is entirely furnished by auctions, flea markets, yard sales, gov sales, hand-me-downs, thrift store buys, craigslist, Ebay, classifieds, or stuff I and/or my brothers made (like these lovely tables that hold our computers). I don’t think it looks junky but it definitely does not have a catalog look. You never know what you might find of interest, check it out:

Not just me – El Part, la Ex-wife, La Tia and all the other parents. Unfortunately, I still don’t know squat about what is going on in the field, other than the kids were wet and muddy 🙂
