A huge thank you and applause to Mr. Bordertown Blues who took the time out to pinch hit (get it, little league post… nevermind, I really don’t know anything about sports) while I was out and about this weekend hoping for a Laredo win in the Miss USA event. Miss Texas, Ana Rodriguez, took 4th place (3rd runner up), which is outstanding – checa when she is named:
But a guest writer also taught me a lot about some of the mechanics of having guest posters. Contrary to popular belief, this blog has 5 writers, not one – but they don’t write often enough for me to notice some of the quirks of more than one guest posts.
In a belated Father’s Day post, a nod to our own resourceful founding fathers of Laredo blogueros (BTB & KR) and as evidence of how practical Laredo dads can be despite the consistent over 100 degree weather, I present to you the Willie Bote cookout table (and a fire extinguishing kiddie pool to toss in burning burgers).
The haze of Laredo on Father’s Day was expected – it is usually present every weekend, but on this 106 degree Dad’s weekend, the haze was extra thick and extra carnuca-scented.
