Old Skool Sunday brings us the precursor to the Farmer’s Markets of 2010 and beyond, when anyone and everyone could have some fresh onions on the dinner table. Laredo, the land of onions once upon a time.

Isn’t that where the San Agustin subdivisions and others are???

The area just north of where LJ Christen Middle School is now located was farmland, “labores” in Spanish. My mother, who was born in 1923, remembers that very well.
