The last standing Laredo blog

Ok, I am not the last standing Laredo blog, but it seems like it!

Critters and Crayons is still up but Tricia is on the road so there are no new blog posts. Randomology and Raquel Elekes personal blog are still up but Michel & Raquel do not post every day. Not to forget, Thrifty Diners, who still have me drooling over their Nutella recipe but they don’t cook online every day.

As most of you regular Laredo blog perusers know – all of the blogs run by Blogger are down for the count (see, I learned something from the Laredo Wrestling Alliance-ha!). The news has also been picked up by larger media, check out what The Huffington Post says:

[UPDATE] On Friday, Blogger Status posted an update about the ongoing problem.
“To get Blogger back to normal, all posts since 7:37am PDT on Weds, 5/11 have been temporarily removed,” the post read.
Blogger says that service will return “soon,” though no timeline was mentioned.

[PREVIOUSLY] Blogger, Google’s online publishing platform, has been experiencing a service disruption since Thursday afternoon.

Blogger Status informed users of maintenance issues at 3:30 p.m. ET and wrote that the site would be in read-only mode until the problems were resolved. (The post was later removed.)

As of 9 p.m. ET, blogs were still inaccessible for users. According to DownRightNow, the outage had been uninterrupted for several hours. DownForEveryoneOrJustMe also confirmed the downtime.

Not to worry readers of Abuelita blog, Chronicles of Yaya will be back and running in no time, along with almost daily posters – LaSanbe, Bordertown Blues and Laredotejas.

Of course… if the guys have an itch to post, they can always guest post on this blog but somehow I think this is an unexpected welcome rest for a few of them. I won’t mention that Bordertown Blues has a mirror site run on wordpress so technically… he can post, if he wanted, but only if he goes back to posting Old Skool Friday pictures!

In the meantime, enjoy reading all their older posts until Google-based Blogger fixes its issues.

  1. Heh… “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!”

Well, a few. Actually, I have an account with Hostgator, so this didn’t affect me.

  2. I was wondering about that! KeyRose and BB are usually pretty good at posting, and I’ve missed them.

    QF: Que fisgona.

It seems that the blogger woes are bothering you more than the actual bloggers–some of whom could care less if blogger is down.

  4. Keyrose says:

I had hoped the problem would have been resolved last night, but at this point, who knows.
I’ll keep checking periodically so I can return to posting. If nothing happens by tonight I might take you up on the guest contributor offer.

I know I can always count on QF for the latest news around our city. Really appreciate your hard work!

I’ve actually considered moving to WordPress, but Blogger is just so easy to use. This ole Abuelita likes the simplicity.

  6. Gretchen says:

Trish is still posting from DC, too…..! 🙂

I love getting all the news from you two, V!

  7. critters and crayons says:

We will be back soon…in time to do the final update and “Mom Math” on all available Laredo summer kids camps and workshops! Just a few to add! 🙂
