¡Adelante!

Border Media has been here and there and everywhere. I meant to go check out when they were passing out coupons for stores and hosting a welcome tent for Mexican shoppers coming in for Semana Santa. By the time I got there, the last van was leaving. This post is not about Border Media, though, it is about recent support for ¡Adelante!

They were also out to help promote Latino Leadership by hosting a radio remote with ¡ADELANTE! out of San Antonio.

My buddy, Jay Zambrano heads up the leadership development organization so I had to chance to ask him why they came to promote in Laredo:

The ¡Adelante! Radio Remote Tour was part a promotion sponsored by Coors Light, HEB, and Frito Lay. Each company has made a significant donation in support of ¡Adelante!’s efforts in helping Latino prepare early for their careers in Corporate America, the federal govt. and nonprofit orgs. The tour was held over the last two weekends at HEBs in Austin, Corpus Christi, Laredo, and San Antonio. Each live remote was handled by local Spanish radio stations, like La Ley 100.5, who are also generously providing airtime to get the word out to the local community.

There you have it – check out ¡Adelante! especially if you are a college student looking for possible scholarships or leadership programs. Or better yet, enter the VIDEO contest to win a trip to a Latin-American country before May 27th.

Good luck, Jay!! See you the next time you are in town.

I told them to pose like the guys on the van... JK! Vicente Gutierrez - Frito-Lay, Jay Zambrano - Adelante, Memo Treviño - Southern Distributors
