St. Patrick’s Day Papalotes

I missed last year’s Kite Festival and I am not too sure about making this one. It is, after all, on St. Patrick’s Day and I might just disappear for such a holiday!

What I want to know is what kind of kites can be entered because by the looks of the flyer sent out by the District 6 folks, that helicopter in the middle is going to blow them all away!! Maybe it is extra insurance for having the oh-most-important-for-kites wind that particular day?? Who knows but it looks like lots of family fun :).

Where’s the corned beef and cabbage?

In the same place the green beer is – not in this event. I would go dump green dye in the river like they do in Chicago but… the Rio Grande is already a mucky green. Just for St. Patrick’s, I’ll have some corned beef (not cabbage, not a fan) and green beer in one of our fine establishments – even if I have to take it myself.
