Lenten food begins!

It almost feels like Fat Tuesday with all the good food around. (sorry if you got an unfinished post in your inbox – I’m posting from my phone & accidentally published)

The TAMU CHUD Colonias program is celebrating 20 years of serving residents of South Texas colonias. Their celebration is starting off with an appreciation lunch of nopales en salsa colorada, tortas de camaron, arroz, frijoles and yummy capirotada. I feel like I’m in my mom’s kitchen.
