Goodbye Fernando A. Salinas QEPD :(

I had never met Fernando A. Salinas but his name and his money made a tremendous impact in this area. Laredo Morning Times reported that Fernando A. Salinas passed away this morning at Laredo Medical Center. He had been bedridden for a long time. It is still sad when someone who was a powerhouse in the community as business owner of downtown shop, Don Antonio’s, and as philanthropist in his later years passes on.

Visitation is set for Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Augustine High School’s St. Anthony de Padua Chapel, 1300 Galveston St. Funeral Mass will be said Saturday at St. Peter the Apostle Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

I can only assume we will continue to hear Mr. Salinas’ name through Javier Santos, the trustee of the Fernando A. Salinas’ Charitable Trust. Que En Paz Descanse.
