Go Red

Local magazine KTF (Kids, Teans & Family) reminds us that today is Go Red for Women day. It would normally be a day when women wear red as a reminder to take care of your heart with a healthy lifestyle, BUT… since almost everyone is at home due to the near shut down of Laredo, maybe your red pajamas could be worn.

From the AHA:

In 2004, the American Heart Association (AHA) faced a challenge. Cardiovascular disease claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were not paying attention. In fact, many even dismissed it as an “older man’s disease.” To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women, the (AHA) created Go Red For Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.

Note to my trainer – I am not avoiding exercise, I am avoiding sliding across black ice as I get to the gym. Really :). I know it is important for me to return to a healthier state, I would hope many more in Laredo would try to also. ¡Andeles corazones, a moverse!
