TAMIU & LCC (temporarily) close

TAMIU has been without power since 8:30am and were finally released since they were in the dark and in the cold.

LCC just announced that due to the rolling “brown outs” their offices are closed until 1:00pm and classes will resume after 2:00pm but if you were on your way to class right now… get ready to sit and wait in the dark.

In downtown, we went through our minor outage in the morning – don’t know if that was intentional or not. I did say to not crank up your heaters to super hot, it just puts a lot of pressure on our grid. Regardless, it is cold but not THAT cold. This was what our local fire department sent out:

UPDATE: LCC is closed until THURSDAY!

    ______Be advised that the Laredo ISD Downtown offices and ECHS @ TAMIU are without power at this time. As such, they will not have connectivity to District network services including email, Internet, SAGE, SchoolMax, eChalk, Cisco IP phones and other services.

    ___due to the above warning, the LISD school district had a more effective Teaching day and the students managed to raise test scores by three points due to the fact that there was no interfenence from the Main Office
