Just because the official Veterans Day is almost over doesn’t mean we should forget about veterans the rest of the year. Some time back I had written about a new non-profit whose mission is to provide food to veterans and their surviving spouses who have a need.
They have recently produced a new flyer to let people know where they are and how to contact them. Like all non-profits, they raise money to support the rent, utilities, food, storage, etc., so they also take donations for the Thrift Store that opened up earlier this year. If you are tired of that suit, no longer need those chairs, or just don’t like the color of your clocks – donate them to Volunteers Serving the Need to help local veterans.
I hope many of you were able to partake in all of the celebrations downtown or in other locations. Let’s make sure we keep those who provided military service in our minds and hearts.
