Rave on the Rio

Sunday’s Laredo Morning Times had a few tidbits of all the things going on for Dia del Rio this year. One of the new activities is the Rave on the Rio! Hope some of you can make it to the Laredo Community College campus at 6pm today! This is a clip from the newspaper story on Dia del Rio:

Rave on the Rio

Informative events sprinkled with traditional Indian dances, poetry and more are part of the first-ever Rave on the Rio from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center theater.

RGISC has organized an exciting schedule of educational lectures and quality entertainment for the evening affair, including talks from river writer Keith Bowden, Elizabeth Verdecchia of the International

Boundary and Water Commission’s Texas Clean Rivers, Rio Grande watermaster Erasmo Yarrito Jr. and Victor Wong of the Border Affairs Office of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The gathering also will feature performances by Danza Tlazkateca of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the prize-winning “Dancing with the Stars” entry Fantasia del Tango, featuring Tricia Cortez and Alex Iadipaolo, as well as poetry, spoken word and musical presentations.

What a wonderful blog. I invest several hours on the web reading through blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to to begin with give kudos to whoever produced your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an post. I honestly think there is a skill to writing articles that only a few posses and frankly you have it. The combination of informative and high quality content is definitely very rare with the big quantity of blogs on the internet.
