Jose Canseco in Laredo

Las Comadres de las Americas members are getting together on Monday to … you guessed it… go check out a great Broncos game. Ok, ok… maybe also to get a few pictures of Jose Canseco, too :). One of the members secured group seats for the active members (if you attended one of these last few meetings and are interested, let the coordinator know you also want to go).

The Laredo Morning Times reports that Mr. Canseco has signed on with the Broncos for home games and other events.

Dennis Silva, LMT Sports Editor says:

Canseco is looking to get back to MLB as a coach or manager and was looking for a way back into the game. He will play in Laredo free of charge, but will also spend time here filming his reality show that will focus on him and baseball.

Laredo, prepare to hear about “Canseco sightings” as he films and plays baseball in our beautiful city of Laredo. We won’t talk about the boost the Laredo Broncos attendance will get nor the recent city council actions with Ventura Sports. Let’s just enjoy Jose Canseco’s presence in our fair city – regardless of the good and bad of his past.

Maybe he can autograph my copy of his book – let’s see if Laredo Books & More can order it for me?? Don’t forget to vote for them once a day through the Pepsi Refresh Project to help give them a boost in opening a bricks & mortar store!

I’m going to hate myself for it, but I will be there for the Broncos next home game to see Jose juice one out. Grr.
