BBVA headquarters shut down temporarily

Poor BBVA-Compass. Well, technically not poor but… smoke & water damage to their headquarters has them scrambling to make arrangements since according to the Birmingham News says:

Birmingham’s downtown Daniel Building, home to BBVA Compass Bank, is closed after a small electrical fire in the early morning hours today.

BBVA Compass employs about 1,000 people at the headquarters building, where workers administrate the business of about 725 branches throughout the nation’s Southern tier. Those workers are now working from home, or at other Compass branches, Bilek said.

Supposedly customers won’t feel the effect but when you are on hold after an hour when you call headquarters … now you will know why.

Thank you, reader Robert who sent this in from Birmingham, Alabama!

Maybe this is why I’m having such a hard time getting a positive response from them. And here I thought it was just lame customer service…
