Cream City magazine released

Cream magazine on display at Chocolateka - ignore the political pamphlets, that was not intentional

This past Friday, Laredo saw the birth of a new magazine. The unveiling was at a nice shindig at the 201 Gallery and by the look of the photos, it looked like it was a big success. I am sure the magazine owners don’t want me to call it fancy schmancy but to us non-Northsiders, it is fancy schmancy.

The publisher is local Fernando de Haro, photographer who focuses on high end artsy type of photography. The pictures online looked interesting so I went over to the Chocolateka to go get my own copy of this new magazine – free premiere issue (and a mango double-dipped in chocolate, mmmm). It is beautiful and glossy and bilingual and colorful and … well… artsy. As expected, it has more ads than content but it works for what it is. Nerdy types like me are going to like to look at it for a second and then move on to something with more words than pictures.

Good luck to the “Cream Team” (that is what the inside credit says) and I’ll be on the lookout for the next issue.
