For sale, for adoption, for real?

On today's Craigslist - but don't call, it looks like a little scammish

If a Laredo Craigslist ad could be made into a country song, this would be the starter ad. I felt bad for this guy and his dead dog but then I kicked myself back into logical mode and figured it was probably a scam. Guess that makes me a jaded craigslister – haha. Unless it has a local area code, local streets named or something that tells me the seller is really from Laredo, I assume it is a scam.

Plenty of scams are perpetuated through all the new media we use (facebook, twitter, myspace, craigslist, etc) and even old standards like the phone – just think of the local firefighter donation telephone scam reported on Pro8News.

A friend commented on a news story she saw that dealt with adoption and facebook. Ok, now that is getting into scarier territory. It turns out they just made the connections through connections to find a match for a private adoption. They look like a nice couple… except for their facebook habits 😛
