Home made bomb tossed at U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo

El Mañana newspaper reported today of a homemade bomb tossed in front of the U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo. It did not cause physical harm to the building nor humans. Apparently it went off a few minutes before midnight and no one has claimed responsibility. That is my simple translation of the quote from El Mañana:

NUEVO LAREDO.- Un artefacto de fabricación casera explotó frente al consulado de Estados Unidos en la ciudad fronteriza de Nuevo Laredo, del estado mexicano de Tamaulipas, sin que causara daños físicos y humanos, reveló hoy una fuente oficial.

Según los datos oficiales, el artefacto explosivo detonó minutos antes de la medianoche, sin que se tengan hasta ahora informes sobre los posibles autores.

So isn’t attacking a U.S. consulate an act of war since it is U.S. property? Hmm… the bad thing is that no one has been named yet, maybe they really don’t know or are still tossing a coin to figure out who is going to be blamed.

It’s strange that this happened last night and is reported but we still don’t know the origin of the two explosions from the night before. For the record, even though I was up almost all of last night, I didn’t hear a thing from our neighbors to the South. All I heard was the regular clik-clok of night-time walkers of the downtown area.

___maybe someone threw the bomb cause they hate getting up at five or six in the morning to get in line to apply for a VISA . . .

How can it be an “act of war” unless it is a state or state-sponsored entity that threw it? If it is just a common criminal, doper, malcontent, etc, how is that an act of war?

Because Mexican soldiers are being blamed for every act of violence now? You are correct, though, it most probably was someone just passing by but news coming out of Mexico is not accurate (even the US is suspect).

I can tell you, though, and an act of war has been declared against me! For the last three nights a bunch of kids have been throwing rocks at my dogs… they best beware because my attack cane is on alert.
